Refund Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for bookings made with House of Vacation India Pvt Ltd. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. What this policy covers
It covers corporate travel, MICE, incentive, group and event bookings arranged by us. It does not create a right to a refund on its own; entitlement depends on the terms of your confirmation and on the suppliers involved.
2. Enquiries and quotations
Submitting an enquiry or receiving a quotation costs nothing and does not reserve anything, so no refund arises. A booking — and any payment obligation — exists only once we issue a written confirmation and any required deposit has been received.
3. How to request a cancellation or refund
Send the request in writing to info@houseofvacation.com, quoting your booking reference. Cancellation takes effect from the date we receive that written request, not from the date of a phone call, so please confirm by email. We will acknowledge the request and set out the charges that apply before anything is processed.
4. Cancellation charges
Charges depend on the airlines, hotels, transport operators and venues held for your booking, and on how close the cancellation is to the travel or event date. As a general rule they increase as the date approaches, and once suppliers have issued tickets or passed their own deadlines the amount they retain is outside our control. The specific slabs for your booking are stated in your confirmation.
5. Amounts that cannot be refunded
Some costs are committed to third parties as soon as they are paid and cannot be recovered. These commonly include:
- Issued air tickets, or the non-refundable component of them, together with airline cancellation and reissue charges.
- Hotel, venue and transport bookings taken on non-refundable or advance-purchase rates.
- Visa application and consular fees, which the authority retains whatever the outcome.
- Insurance premiums, once the policy has been issued.
- Bank, payment-gateway and foreign-exchange charges already incurred.
- Third-party charges for services already delivered.
6. Visa refusal
Visas are granted at the discretion of the authority concerned. As set out in our Terms, a refusal is not a fault on our part, and the booking's normal cancellation charges apply. Visa and consular fees are not refundable.
7. Changes instead of cancelling
Where dates, names or the itinerary can be amended rather than cancelled, an amendment is often cheaper than cancelling and rebooking. Amendment charges are set by the suppliers and are quoted before any change is made. Tell us what you need and we will price both options.
8. No-shows and unused services
Travellers who do not present themselves for a flight, transfer, hotel night or event session, and services left unused during a trip, are not refundable.
9. If we or a supplier cancel
If we cancel a confirmed booking for a reason within our control, you may choose an alternative arrangement or a refund of the amounts we hold for you, without a cancellation charge from us. Where an airline, hotel or venue cancels, we will pursue the refund or credit that supplier offers and pass on what we recover. In events beyond reasonable control — such as natural events, strikes, government restrictions or the withdrawal of permissions — the amounts recoverable are limited to what suppliers agree to return.
10. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are made to the account or card originally used, in the currency of the original payment, and to the party that made the payment. We cannot redirect a refund to a different account. Where a supplier refund is involved, we release your refund once that supplier has confirmed and remitted theirs; airline and overseas supplier refunds can take longer than domestic ones.
11. Taxes and levies
Government taxes and statutory levies are refunded only to the extent the relevant authority or supplier permits. Goods and Services Tax already deposited is adjusted in line with the applicable rules.
12. Questions and disputes
If you believe a charge has been applied incorrectly, write to us with your booking reference and we will review it and explain the calculation. Disputes are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction, as set out in our Terms.
